Final project -About gender fine art installation

INSTRUCTABLE

Title.

About Gender-magnetic reaction & ferrofluid reaction learning.

Intended audience.

During the design process, subconscious was the word I was thinking and mentioned all the time, which means how I can send out more closely target messages base on using design language. This is actually a process of presenting an abstract information by combining with different design elements if using metaphor to describe it, it will be a storytelling or a literal computer language input and output. Furthermore, user testing and preinterview are also crucial, going whatever fine art piece or utility design product if define it for generalized the ultimate goal is to serve people thus the all-important is user experience.

I hope that people can explore a new cognitive or deeper thinking of the conception of gender during today and meanwhile have a variety outlooks of the implication of gender in the future

Week 10 Assignment

For this week I did an illustration of gender investigation.

I used red pigment and transparent base for the redline and sowed it so that when the circuit is connected, the gap between gender conception will be heated up and disappear.

RUOSHUI WU’s Takeout LAMP Midterm

    Takeout LAMP

I got the inspiration for doing this project base on my daily observation. During today's life if trying to find a target to describe it with no doubt high speed will definitely be one of it.
We enjoy multiple changes every day like the born of the new technics. It changes our original way of meeting friends also dating and learning even working.

But as Dale Carnegie said that,"Every story will normally have two sides." that means it is an important technique to very thoroughly look at 'things' and rationally analyze it. With no doubt, modern lifestyle can bring countless convenience meanwhile It is also the main reason let the most original and also valuable things despaired.

The take out lamb is base on this, singly about food people who live in the city already get used to taking out, sadly they forget the interesting part of home cooking making food and enjoy it with friends or family together. It is not only will be the missing of home cooking only. This is more about the missing of the original way of family time, friends getting around together, and the culture of food.

Sometimes times people during today really should get slow down about their lifestyle and try to filter a little bit or even just think twice about the ‘new things’.

Week 5: Assignment

1) Finish your ATtiny circuit.
2) Before next class, I would like you to try learning a new craft. That’s it. NO electronics. Make a swatch (small example) that comes out of your learning. This could include any of the following:

  • sewing (by hand or on the machine)
  • embroidery
  • knitting
  • crocheting
  • draping
  • paper engineering
  • woodworking
  • silkscreening
  • surface design/fabric printing
  • etc, etc, etc

Here are some tutorials from last year as inspiration (also, this was a much longer project last year – you do NOT need to go into this depth). There are also a TON of tutorials if you hit the Googles.

Next, create a post with an image of your swatch and reflect on the following questions.
After doing all of the above, write a blog post that answers the questions below. It doesn’t have to be long, but I would like you to spend a good amount of time reflecting on these:

  • How do you identify/classify your practice? Choose as many as you would like from the following and feel free to add to it. Briefly, explain why you chose them.
    • storyteller
    • maker
    • engineer
    • coder
    • designer
    • artist
    • learner
    • hacker
    • research
    • educator
    • gamer
    • craftsperson
    • [other?]
  • What is your favorite tool and why? Yes, again ? (I’m going to put one restriction on this – you’re not allowed to say computer ?
  • Reflect on your experience trying out a new craft. Some questions you could address: What did you like about the process? What was frustrating? What insight did you gain? What advice would you give to someone?

3) Continue working on your midterm.

Week 1

The most existed thing for the smokedress project for me is the interreact. Anouk Wipprecht which is the designer of the dress give clothing life cause of her your clothes have brain shoes can make decisions and outfits are able can receive the environment around them.

What she made out about the dress makes it became not only just an outfit she make it more functional and she actually does give the dress more meanings people can put the dress into the scenario that they imagine.
