WEEK 2: Switch with Paper Craft

Sep 26, 2013 by Carl Jadaa // Leave a Comment

For this assignment, I did a house built with paper, and integrated a circuit inside of it using copper tape and conductive thread. I made the door to the house act as a switch, in a way that when it rotates, the LED lights turn on inside the house.

Week 4 – Potentiometer Sensor

Pressure sensors Sponge Sensor Squeezing the sensor allows the two sides of tape to connect and control the LED. Hideous Pom Pom Squeezing this “Pom-Pom” (I use this term lightly), controls the LED by increasing the conductivity as you squeeze more of the tape is connected. Pots Before I started on my Pot Sensors I…

Week 5 Slides: Microcontroller Workshop Part 1 (+ Diagrams)

More Resources: >> Ohm’s Law + KVL >> Fritzing (to build wiring diagrams and schematics) Here are some wiring diagrams we went over in class about buttons and pull down/up resistors. Here is a super helpful button tutorial from Arduino. And remember: PULL DOWN to Ground :: Button pressed = LED on HIGH PULL UP…

bend sensor: so for this one I used duct tape for the outer part and a thread with three layers of velostat. so whenever u bend the duct tape, the red light lights up more. This was the easiest one between them. for the pressure sensor I used conductive fabric wrapped with duct tape as…

1. Stretch 1.2) Conductive material : copper tape / Resistive material : resistive thread / A range from dark to bright : low Hi every one! I made the first variation by using stretch technique. I put resistive thread into elastic band. You can see the level of luminescence above.   1.2) Conductive material : copper tape…

Week 3 – Folding & Switch

Sep 24, 2013 by Billy Ryu // Leave a Comment

For week 3 assignment, I quickly made a simple switch with folding paper. I used one of origami methods called Tetratetraflexagon. This is one way of flexagon origami which has four faces and four sides. I’ve tried this when I took a book arts class at my undergraduate school. There are many different types of…

Week 4 Assignment

1) Create two variations of two sensors from the four we discussed (Pressure, Potentiometer, Bend/Flex, Stretch). You should have a total of 4 sensors. Think about surface area, distance, and contact as you construct them. Also: You do not have to embed the battery. Instead you may connect them with alligator clips. ;) 2) Document…
