The goal of this project was to construct a musical interface. Instead of creating a series of different switches for input that are connected to various actuators, I sought to design an interface in which the input was the actuator. My initial concept was to create a tower (actually towers) of sound. After a few experiments with paper speakers, I was interested in pushing the boundaries of the form and physics. The final presentation for Module 1. The methodological module is meant to explore and investigate the types of approaches to research that are dominant in our respective disciplines. With this in mind, this presentation is an overview of methodologies applicable to my current direction, of how I might gather data for evaluation and prototypes, and is not an solidified outline of my project’s trajectory since I have yet to define the project at this point.
