The Makey Makey simulates a keyboard when a keyboard is connected, it’s different to a hacked keyboard though in that it’s calibrated to pick up currents over very high resistances allowing minimally conductive objects to function.

Using conductive ink and conductive tape make two Empire State Building circuits . LED light up on the spire of building.

For my first Circuit this week, I created a simple heart using the conductive copper taffeta and copper tape. First, I cut a hole in the paper and put the copped tape through to the other side:

Then, I cut small holes to fit two LEDs:

Next, I added the battery into the mix and got the LED to light up:

And finally, I added the heart-shaped piece of copper taffeta:

Circuit 2: Lamp

My second circuit was a hanging origami lamp. I used conductive yarn and copper tape. First, I folded an origami hollow ball and put two LEDs into it using the backing fabric I had brought in:

I then put tape around the two positive pins of the LEDs and the two negative pins of the LEDs. Then, I wrapped the conductive yarn around the copped and tied them.

I then attached the other side of the yarn to the positive and negative sides of the battery, and voila, a hanging lamp! (It could be a necklace, too!

Circuit Illustration

For my Circuit Illustration, I wanted to create the “All My Friends are Dead” dinosaur from the following books:

In my illustration, I wanted to depict the dinosaur as finally happy once he got some spikes! So, I first started out drawing him out and cutting him out:

I then cut out a piece of the copper taffeta in the shape of the dinosaur. After taping that onto the paper dinosaur cutout, I taped on 4 LEDs to the top of the dinosaur using copped tape. I cut a small hole in the paper cutout of the dinosaur where I was putting the battery’s negative side:

Then, I covered that hole with the negative side of the battery and taped the positive side of the LEDs to the positive side of the battery with copper tape:

And now he lights up when you press his tummy!

After that, I taped the dinosaur to a stand, and now you can pet his tummy and let him know he has some friends!

This is a paper plane with three lights. Two of them are always on and indicates the plane’s width. The one in the middle is the ready sign, it will be turned on if a person is hold the middle of the paper plane tightly.

Circuit Illustration 

Immediately an enormous and frightful genie rose out of the earth, saying: “What wouldst thou with me? I am the slave of the ring, and will obey thee in all things.”

This line is from Aladdin’s Lamp. Genie and the lamp is what in this picture. If somebody touches the lamp the Genie will come alive(Blink Blink Blink).  Cotten is what his body is made of. I was going to use the conductive thread to connect his eyes to make its face floating on cotton, however the connection was never strong. So I stick his face on the paper, the result is surprisingly good.

This toy has four separate parts. When one part sticks to another part, both parts will light up. When four parts stick together, all the lights will be on.

My illustration is about a Chinese love legend.

The Cowherd and the Weaving Maid, who are once a happy couple, become stars separated by the Milky Way. They can meet only once in a year when magpies fly together to form a bridge over the Milky Way.

I made this rose out of some coffee filters and a chopstick. I added two red LEDs to give it red color.

The Golden Fish

When suddenly to his great surprise, the golden fish spoke to him:” Good fisherman, please spare my life. I am so very small that I would hardly make a mouthful for you and your wife. Please give me my freedom, and throw me back into the sea. If you will, I will five you anything in the world that you wish.”

“Why, you poor little fish,” laughed the fisherman. “You are indeed very generous, and I am only too glad to grant you your freedom.”

So the kind fisherman put the little fish back into the water, and the fish, sparkling like the sunbeams, swam swiftly through the blue water.

I use conductive tape to light 2 LEDs. And I try to use the tape to draw a scenery from Mountain Sound, which is a song from Of Monsters and Men.
