Visualizing Sensor Data

I visualized data from an Ultrasonic Distance Sensor. Video1 Video2.

The diameters of the ripple like colorful ellipses become larger according to the distance that the ultrasonic sensor detects. I referred to this site.

We made a small “Rube Goldberg Machine” using a toy bug as an input, a photo cell as a sensor, a servo motor as an actuator. We also adopted a ball, a balloon and a needle for this device.

Pulse Sensor

We used a pulse sensor Julie bought at Maker Fair. Pulse sensor consists of a led and a photocell as a detector. You can see how a pulse sensor works from this site.
We applied these sample codes. We downloaded “P_PulseSensor_06.zip” and PulseSensorAmpd_Arduino_01.zip .

I made heartbeat using pulse-width modulation(PWM) with three LEDs; two red leds and a green led. I adjusted the parameter so that leds look like real heartbeat.Video
